Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jon Husted, and JobsOhio joined representatives from the Ford Motor Company last week to announce that Ford is investing $1.5 billion into Lorain County at the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake to assemble an all-new commercial electric vehicle (EV). Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted last week announced additional state support to help strengthen the local meat supply chain and reduce reliance on out-of-state meat processors. Businesses can prepare now for the opening of the next round of the Ohio TechCred program. Round 15 will open July 1, and applications will be accepted until July 29. The March round of TechCred marked the 13th round of the program. With the March round approvals, a total of 1,822 Ohio employers have been approved for funding through the TechCred program, supporting the earning of 40,824 tech-focused credentials by employees. Businesses that received loans through the federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) are encouraged to apply for loan forgiveness. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is no longer accepting PPP applications after providing $798 billion in economic relief to small businesses and nonprofits.
