The Dublin Irish Festival 2020 Cancelled
It is with deep disappointment that the City of Dublin announces the cancellation of the 33rd annual Dublin Irish Festival set for July 31, Aug. 1 and Aug. 2, 2020. The safety of our guests, volunteers, staff and participants is our top priority. The challenges of adhering to social-distancing guidelines, assuring fiscal responsibility and maintaining the highest quality entertainment experience also factored heavily into the decision.
The Dublin Irish Festival is an international, award-winning event that attracts more than 100,000 guests annually and produces an estimated annual economic impact of $8.5 million. The City of Dublin funds the Festival through the City’s Hotel/Motel Tax fund and revenues generated by the event.
Ticket buyers will have the option to receive a refund or transfer their tickets for use at the 2021 Festival.
The 2020 campaign theme, “Sláinte,” Irish for “Cheers, to Your Health,” is more meaningful now than ever and will continue into the 2021 Festival, Aug. 6 – 8. We will miss seeing everyone this year, but look forward to celebrating with you in 2021.
