City of Dublin
The City of Dublin Recreation Services offers hundreds of programs and activities for individuals of all ages, from preschool through teen, adult to senior citizens. The program and activities brochure is published and distributed three times per year, in March, August and December. Copies are available at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC) and online at www.dublinohiousa.gov/recreation.
Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC)
The DCRC is a 110,000-square-foot facility located in Coffman Park, 5600 Post Road. The DCRC is a state-of-the-art facility offering Dublin residents and corporate citizens an extensive array of recreation and sports activities. Facilities include a fitness area, group fitness studios, gymnasium, running/walking track, competition and leisure pools and babysitting room.Annual passes to the DCRC are available to Dublin-based employees for $240, and are valid from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. For additional costs, members may register for a wide variety of group fitness classes or specialized programs such as Pilates, TRX and yoga. Personal training and fitness testing is also available.
Meeting Facilities
The DCRC features a 4,000 square foot community hall, seating up to 300, to accommodate business meetings or social gatherings. A/V equipment and Internet access are complimentary. Two smaller meeting rooms are available for groups of up to 12 people.
The 200-seat Abbey Theater is ideal for lectures, presentations and performances, offering complete lighting, sound and video systems along with experienced technical support staff.Dublin Community Senior Citizens
Senior citizens are offered a plethora of programming options at the Dublin Community Recreation Center. Anyone 55 or older is eligible to join the Dublin Community Senior Citizens Group. Regular programming options include activities such as movie afternoons, card play, pottery classes, exercise classes and a theater troop. There are also a variety of special events including guest speakers, travel, dancing, cooking classes and musical performances.A senior lounge, which includes a library, is open to all group members from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Annual dues are $15 per person for Dublin residents and $20 for school district residents and non-residents. Membership privileges include participation in all general and special activities, priority for trip sign-ups, a monthly newsletter, a name badge, and eligibility to serve on committees and programs. Additional charges may be required for certain events.
The group also hosts a monthly potluck meeting at 11:15 a.m. at the Dublin Community Recreation Hall on the second Monday of each month, except May and December. Dublin Community Pools
The Dublin Community Pool North, 5660 Dublinshire Drive (located in Earlington Park), and the Dublin Community Pool South, 6363 Woerner-Temple Road, are open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Memberships are available to Dublin residents, and to non-residents on a limited basis. For more information about water-related activities, call Recreation Services at 614-410-4550.
Adult Athletics
Dublin Recreation Services offers organized league sports including softball, basketball, volleyball, bocce, badminton and tennis. Adults, teens and youth have the opportunity to take golf and tennis lessons. Open gyms are available throughout the year. To register, call the DCRC at 614-410-4550.
Youth Athletics
In conjunction with Dublin City Schools and the City of Dublin Recreation Services, Dublin Youth Athletics (DYA) provides youth participants with a variety of recreational and competitive sports. DYA is an association of parent volunteers and offers youth leagues in baseball, softbal, tee-ball, golf, basketball, lacrosse and volleyball. Miracle League
The Miracle League of Central Ohio provides a custom-designed venue for special needs children to play baseball. The diamond, located at Darree Fields Park, 6259 Cosgray Road, incorporates a cushioned, synthetic surface with base paths, bases, batters’ box, pitcher’s mound, and home plate painted on the surface. This design eliminates barriers for children who are visually impaired, wheelchair or walker restricted, or who use any type of mobile device. The baseball season runs three months annually starting in May. Adjacent to the baseball field is a handicapped accessible playground. DUBLIN AREA PARKS
Dublin offers more than 1,500 acres of parkland, with 56 developed parks ranging from wooded natural areas and river frontage to intensely active athletic facilities. Certain parks have facilities such as shelter houses that can be reserved for family or corporate outings. Glacier Ridge Metro Park
Located northwest of Dublin, this park features a restored 150-acre wetland area, 11 miles of winding trails, and a wind turbine that provides electricity to the park. Visitors can traverse a boardwalk through wetlands, climb a 25-foot observation tower or visit the outdoor classroom.
Dublin Veterans Park - Grounds of Remembrance
Located at 77 N. High St. in Historic Dublin, the Dublin Veterans Park features the Grounds of Remembrance memorial. The park is approximately one acre and is bordered by the Dublin branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Indian Run Cemetary and Dublin Road.Bike Paths
The City of Dublin offers a first-class bike path system with nearly 90 miles of paths. Motorized vehicles are not permitted on bike paths. The Chamber office, as well as the Dublin Community Recreation Center, has a map of the bike paths available for reference.Dog Park
Nando’s Dog Park is in Darree Fields Park located at 6259 Cosgray Road, in Dublin and offers small and large breed dogs an area to run, play and roam. The total space is two acres and the large breed area has a walking area for owners.
