Jim Sauter, Vice President of Restaurants and Operating for Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern, has been awarded the Dublin Chamber of Commerce Businessperson of the Year. We will be hosting a Business After Hours and reception celebrating his contributions to our community, his leadership, and service to Dublin.

The Business After Hours and reception in Jim's honor will be held on March 17, 2026 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Sarnova, 5000 Bradenton Ave., Dublin.

Jim exemplifies what it means to be a business leader who drives success and invests deeply in the community he serves. In his role, he has played an integral role in strengthening one of central Ohio’s most iconic and respected restaurant brands, Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern, while ensuring its values align with community connection, service and integrity.

Jim provides strategic direction across restaurant operations by mentoring teams, developing talent and fostering a culture rooted in genuine hospitality. His leadership has helped Rusty Bucket, Cap City Fine Diner and Bar, Valentina’s, Marcella’s, and Molly Woo’s maintain high standards for guest experience while navigating an evolving restaurant industry. Colleagues respect Jim for his steady, people-first approach and his ability to lead with both clarity and compassion.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jim is deeply committed to giving back to the Dublin and central Ohio communities. He is actively involved with youth sports initiatives, including the Board of Directors of the Dublin Youth Athletics Association and as an Advisory Council member of OSU LiFEsports, a program addressing the ever-changing needs of the community’s youth and the field of sport-based positive youth development. His work as an Advisory Council member actively provides policy and programming guidance, philanthropic leadership and direction, and general promotion to LiFEsports to support the organization’s mission and needs. Jim has represented LiFEsports during Dublin City Council meetings to encourage increased financial support to give the over 300 Dublin elementary students on the Summer Camp waitlist the opportunity to attend the camp. Currently, over 120 Dublin elementary students have attended LiFEsports Summer Camp annually.   In addition to his work with LiFEsportsJim personally donates lacrosse equipment to youth beginning in the sport (a personal passion of his) and offers to coach them during his personal time.

“I am humbly honored to receive this award and hope that it shines light on the organizations and community that I hold dear to my heart,” said Sauter.

As a resident of Dublin with his wife and two children, Jim’s commitment to community engagement reflects a genuine belief that strong businesses and strong communities go hand in hand. Whether supporting local organizations that benefit youth and families, mentoring emerging leaders in the hospitality industry or continuing to lead Rusty Bucket to success, Jim consistently demonstrates a sense of responsibility to make Dublin a better place to live and work.

"Jim is a long-time resident of Dublin and has been actively involved with youth sports initiatives like OSU LiFEsports.
