St. Patrick's Day Party & Business After Hours

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the Chamber! Break out your green garb and join your friends and colleagues on March 18 for some Business After Hours shenanigans!

The March BAH offers all the fun festivities and networking you’ve come to know and enjoy at these after-work events – from food and beverages to socializing in a casual setting with members of the Dublin business community, to door prizes for those with the luck of the Irish.

You’ll also have a chance to meet the 2014 Dublin Chamber Business Person of the Year, Yoshihiro Hidaka, president & CEO of Hidaka USA, Inc. In 1989, Hidaka USA, a sheet metal fabrication facility, was incorporated in Dublin and headed up by Yoshihiro Hidaka, who moved to central Ohio with this wife, Keiko and their two sons. Hidaka USA employs 50 full-time associates who focus on design, engineering and production serving the sheet metal fabrication needs of various industries, including the automotive, railcar and motorcycle industries. Production at the facility started in 1991.  

Yoshihiro Hidaka grew up in Tokyo, Japan. After graduating from Keio University in Tokyo, he accepted a position in the sales department of a global automotive products manufacturer in Tokyo.  After working several years, Yoshihiro had the opportunity to relocate to the United States to work for the US division of this same company, which was located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  

Yoshihiro serves on the OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital Development Board, and also on the Board of Directors for the Japan-America Society of Central Ohio (JASCO), a private, nonprofit membership association with a mission to bring the Japanese and American communities together through a variety of events.

He also serves as an ambassador at Dublin’s city-wide events and helps to facilitate discussions between the Consul General of Japan and area businesses. Recently, Dana McDaniel, Dublin’s Director of Development, traveled to Japan to meet with businesses looking to expand in the Columbus region. Yoshihiro delegated his son, Akihiro Hidaka, Director of Operations at Hidaka USA, to showcase Hidaka Seiki, located in Utsunomiya, Japan, to Dana. Hidaka Seiki is the parent company of Hidaka USA.

Yoshihiro currently lives in Upper Arlington with his wife, Keiko. He has two sons; Hirobumi, who resides in New York, and Akihiro, who serves as an Operations Director at Hidaka USA, Inc.
