Lunch & Learn: Fostering Loyalty Among Staff and Teams
Spend your lunch learning something new to improve your business and your professionals skills!
The Dublin Chamber of Commerce Lunch & Learn Series is designed to offer you professional counsel on a variety of topics of interest to businesses. Sessions feature local business experts who are available to share tips, offer professional guidance and answer questions. These valuable sessions are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include lunch.
At this session, you will hear from Lisa Armitage, owner of Goldfish Swim School, who will discuss Fostering Loyalty Among Staff and Teams. You will learn how to engage your employees, boost team morale, and create a culture where employees want to stay.
About the Speaker:
When Lisa Armitage’s three children were taking swim lessons at a Goldfish Swim School in Michigan, she realized the importance of teaching kids of all ages to swim.More than simply a fun activity, it’s about fostering water safety awareness and education—which can
ultimately save a child’s life. Needless to say, Lisa fell in love with the program.
Leveraging her background in business and marketing, and inspired by her longtime-small-business-owner mother, Lisa opened her first Goldfish Swim School (GSS) in Dublin, Ohio, in 2014. A second and third location quickly followed. Today, Lisa’s proud to be a top-performing franchise among more than 80 GSS locations across the U.S. and Canada.
A firm believer in championing other entrepreneurs, Lisa serves as a mentor to fellow franchisees and small business owners. She’s also a passionate CrossFitter who achieved Level 1 Trainer certification.
The Dublin location has experienced a 464 percent increase in enrollment since opening. With close to 3,000 students currently enrolled, Dublin serves nearly twice as many students as the GSS system average. The Westerville location opened with almost 1,000 students enrolled, among the highest in the system’s history, with the Lewis Center location opening just shy of that number.
Lisa’s influencer- and grassroots-driven marketing strategies resulted in one of the top openings in GSS history. Her efforts are always centered on water safety—during lessons and in community outreach—which differentiates Goldfish from other swim schools. Lisa partners with local parenting bloggers who regularly share their experiences with followers; participates in media interviews as a water safety expert; and collaborates with local mom brand ambassadors and their networks. She regularly speaks with local business and community organizations on topics ranging from business to water safety.
