Japan-American Society of Central Ohio Annual Econoimics Seminar
The Japan-America Society of Central Ohio will be holding its Annual Economics Seminar on Thursday, November 20th, 2014 from 5:30pm-8:00pm at the Dublin Recreation Center (5600 Post Rd., Dublin, OH 43017).
This year's topic will be "Supply Chain Updates in Ohio," covering topics central to the Ohio community, and Japan's investment in the Midwestern automotive industry. The event will feature three speakers from various sectors of the industry, each with a specific area of expertise. Kristi Tanner of Jobs Ohio, Mark Willoughby from Honda North America, and Professor John Gray from Ohio State
University’s Fisher College.

- Speech from Consul-General of Japan in Detroit: Dr. Kazuyuki Katayama
- Mark Willoughby - Honda of America Manufacturing – Will expound the Honda operational technique used in Central Ohio, its local supply base, and the global challenges Honda faces in supply chain management
- Professor John Gray - Fisher College (The Ohio State University) – Will explain the basic perspective of supply chain risk management, the challenges of supply chain risk management vs. lean/JIT, and the justification of investing in supply chain risk management
- Kristi Tanner - Jobs Ohio – Will focus on the workforce availability in Ohio, wage trends, and the best practices currently used to develop new programs in response to employer hiring/training needs
- Panel discussion and Q&A led by moderator: Colleen Giger from the City of Dublin.
