Business and Philanthropy
Dublin Women’s Philanthropic Club (DWPC) invites members of the community to attend their Nov. 15 meeting from 6:00 to 8:15 p.m. at The Country Club at Muirfield Village, 8715 Muirfield Dr., in Dublin, featuring Jeni Britton Bauer, founder of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and Local Matters’ Executive Director Michelle Moskowitz Brown. The evening features a presentation about business leadership and philanthropy, with a focus on Local Matters. Guests will participate in a spice bundling service project for the Columbus-based nonprofit organization.
Local Matters, founded in 2008, is committed to increasing education and access to healthful foods. The organization expects to impact more than 11,000 children, adults and families in 2016, teaching them what healthy food is, where it comes from, how to grow it and how to access it affordably.
The event is free of charge, but seating is limited and reservations are required. Advance registration is available for members through Oct. 31. General reservations are open to the public after Nov. 1. All guests must register at http://dublinwomensclub.com/ or email dublinwomensclub@gmail.com.
DWPC is a nonprofit organization of nearly 100 dedicated women, founded in 1978 and devoted to philanthropic educational access and families in need. Additional information can be found at http://dublinwomensclub.com/.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is a Columbus-based artisan ice cream company that uses Direct Trade Ingredients and is dedicated to building community locally and in cities across the country.
