The Presidents Cup 2013
Muirfield Village Golf Club
Dublin, Ohio
October 1-6, 2013

Twenty-four of the world's greatest golfers. Two iconic team captains. One epic event.

Since its inception in 1994, The Presidents Cup has become one of the most eagerly awaited and highly watched events in the world of golf.  This October, Muirfield Village Golf Club becomes the third U.S. golf course to host The Presidents Cup, joining Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Prince William County, Va., (1994, 1996, 2000) and Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco, Calif., (2009).  Muirfield Village is the first club in the world to host three of golf’s most prestigious international team competitions—The Presidents Cup, The Ryder Cup and The Solheim Cup.

The Presidents Cup, a team match play competition featuring 24 of the world’s top golfers – 12 from the United States and 12 from around the world, excluding Europe – is held every two years, and since 1996 has alternated between United States and international venues. The Presidents Cup was developed to give the world’s best non-European players an opportunity to compete in international team match-play competition. The U.S. Team has won seven of the nine previous Presidents Cups, and the only win by the International Team came at the 1998 event in Melbourne. The Presidents Cup 2003 ended in a tie.

Fred Couples will return as U.S. Team captain in 2013, and World Golf Hall of Fame member Nick Price will lead the International Team.  Couples and Price bring a wealth of enthusiasm and experience to their respective teams.  Couples will attempt to win for a third time as captain - something that has yet to be done in event history - and better Jack Nicklaus' 2-1-1 Presidents Cup record at Jack's course.  And while Price is a 'rookie' captain, he has the distinction of being the captain with the most Presidents Cup experience as a player, having competed for the International team a total of five times.

In accordance with golf's long tradition of giving back, those who participate in The Presidents Cup are playing for charity.  Each player, team captain and captain's assistant names charities of his own choosing to receive a portion of the proceeds raised by The Presidents Cup.  Since 1994, more than $27 million has been generated for charities worldwide, including a record $4.5 million donation from the 2011 event.

Tickets, travel packages and corporate hospitality packages are now available for this event.  Visit presidentscup.com for more information.  Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance, as this world-class event is expected to sell out.
