FirstMerit Bank is a strong midwest regional bank founded in 1845 that focuses on owner operated businesses, their families and their employees. The company is comprised of seasoned bankers who serve as advisors to clients, many having either owned or worked in family-owned businesses.

Julie Orr, Vice President of Business Banking at FirstMerit Bank, joined the Dublin Chamber more than 20 years ago, and since this time has been an strong, pro-active member. She enjoys attending the numerous Chamber events that hosts members of the business community. “My job is to help businesses with all of their financial needs, and the Dublin Chamber provides me resources to better serve my business clients. 

For FirstMerit, the Dublin Chamber has been a great way to meet business owners and gain name recognition. "We love getting involved in events like the Leadership Dublin Community Service Day and the Chamber Golf Outing every year because it allows us to tell our story and talk directly with the business owners or their advisors,” continues Julie. “I have been able to develop strong relationships built on trust because of my connection to them through the Chamber.”

FirstMerit offers the same full range of diversified financial services that larger banks offer, but with one-on-one customer service. Because of this type of personal assistance for both businesses and consumers, it is important for Julie and her team to stay connected and supportive of the community.

“The Chamber provides you an insight into the community and its businesses,” states Julie. “No matter the size of your business or your role, the Chamber offers resources and activities to help you get involved.”

Julie is an active volunteer in the Dublin Chamber’s Ambassador Club, a group that works to increase membership and strengthen awareness of member benefits. Through this group, Julie is able to “stay connected to the happenings in the community and build camaraderie with other Chamber member businesses.”

FirstMerit has offices in Chicago, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan and continues to expand within those markets to serve the needs of the small- to mid-market business owners.
