The Dublin Chamber of Commerce board of directors is proud to announce that Tim Picciano, owner of the Dublin Village Tavern, has been named the 2009 Business Person of the Year.
“I never would have envisioned this,” Picciano said moments after receiving the call he’d won the award. “It certainly is an honor. I’m very humbled and honored. It’s something I’ve never even thought about. I appreciate being nominated and was certainly not looking for this kind of recognition.”
Since 1985, this prestigious award has been presented annually to an individual who has positively contributed to the betterment of Dublin’s business community. The Business Person of the Year demonstrates superior leadership and service to Dublin. Picciano’s devotion to Dublin and the business community certainly makes this community a better place to live, work, play and create.
Picciano is the owner of Dublin Village Tavern, and co-owner of the Liberty Tavern in Historic Powell. He is also on the advisory board of the Dublin Irish Festival.
Picciano’s entrepreneurial spirit is also visible through his contributions to help start the Historic Dublin Business Association (HDBA) in 2003. He recently completed a two year term as president of the HDBA. During his tenure he helped start the popular Sláinte Thursday series that attracts people to the historic district.
“Tim is a pillar of community strength in Dublin and we’re so lucky to have his talents close to home,” said Dublin Chamber Executive Director Margery Amorose. “He is a huge advocate of the business community and always available to lend a hand.”
Picciano resides in Dublin with his wife, Cynthia, of 28 years and their two Labrador retrievers. They have three children Gina, Tony and Nick. The trio was the first set of triplets to go through Dublin City Schools. |
