Dublin Food Pantry

The Dublin Food Pantry collects a great deal of food for the Pantry during the Dublin Irish Festival. The collected food needs to be sorted and stocked on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 11:30 to 2:30 p.m.  To volunteer, complete the form below. Please indicate which shift you would like to work in the comments section. Additional details will be e-mailed to you that week.

Small business owners now have their own Chamber forum to share ideas and gain insight from other similar sized companies. The Dublin Chamber’s Small Office Home Office program, or SOHO, encourages discussion of techniques to help increase business, simplify operations and obtain greater success.

The one-hour meetings are held at noon on the second Wednesday of each month at the Chamber office, 129 S. High St., in Historic Dublin. At each meeting a speaker will address a specific, pertinent and timely topic chosen by members.

SOHO is designed to provide the opportunity to meet other professionals who face the daily challenges, risks and rewards of running a small office or home office.

Registration is only $50 per year for Chamber members, and $250 per year for non-members.

The City of Dublin Scioto River Cleanup Project 

Dublin needs volunteers on Saturday, Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon.  Volunteers meet at the Dublin Municipal Building, 5200 Emerald Parkway in Dublin at 9 a.m. for a brief training meeting. From here, you will be assigned a location leader and point along the river.

The Dublin, Worthington and Union County Chambers of Commerce and the Columbus Young Professionals Club are bringing young professionals from all over Central Ohio together for a 
Multi-Chamber Young Professionals Networking Event
 The evening features a discussion on “The World of Personal Branding & Social Media” by expert Shane Haggerty


Shane Haggerty didn’t know it when he started blogging and Twittering up a storm, but the creation of his personal brand was underway.  By becoming engaged on all the various social media channels, Haggerty (and millions of others) have been building a brand around their persona, which can have a strong impact on how you are viewed by those in your personal and professional worlds.  In this presentation, Haggerty will discuss what personal branding is, how social media impacts it and why it is important for you to get control over yours so you can leverage it for professional success. 

After the presentation, attendees will enjoy networking, free appetizers and beverages, raffle prizes, and 1/2 off  Dave and Buster's game cards. The evening is FREE for young professional group members and $5 for non-members.

About the speaker: Shane Haggerty is the marketing and communications coordinator for the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, one of the top career-technical school districts and adult education centers in the state of Ohio. He has presented on the topic of social media to various groups and organizations, including the Ohio Department of Education, Champaign County Chamber of Commerce, Ohio School Boards Association and more.

This group networking event typically meets the fourth Tuesday of each month and always offers something different such as guest speakers, speed networking and breakfast.
